SCR vs. GCC - Declare your Intent by noon Sunday

    Hi Shark Families!

Thursday 6/18 at 4pm is our next QuaranSwim Virtual Meet! We will be swimming Greenville Country Club (GCC) at our pool, virtually of course.

Please declare your intent for your swimmer(s) to participate in the meet and if you are participating, sign up for a volunteer position.

So How Do I Sign My Swimmer Up for a Meet?

You’ll need to log in to Swimtopia and click the Meets & Events Signups tab. PLEASE READ “SIGNUP INSTRUCTIONS” BEFORE GOING TO THE SIGNUP CALENDAR. If you will not be at a meet, you must declare that you are not attending the meet. YOU MUST DECLARE YOUR INTENT TO SWIM BY NOON THIS SUNDAY! Our coaches work hard planning each meet so we really need you to declare on time! If not your swimmer may miss the chance to be in a relay or be part of the meet at all.

    Reminders and CHANGES!

    • We will not be hosting another team in person - it will just be our team swimming for safety reasons.
    • There will be NO cars in the parking lot as we will be using it for families to tailgate in. Golf carts will be allowed this week!
    • You will be able to drop your swimmer / tailgating items off using the Briar Creek Rd cul de sac beginning at 3pm.
    • Parking will be available at Covenant United Methodist Church.
    • No pool chairs or tailgate chairs allowed on the pool deck, except for our swimmers.
    • We suggest parents enter the pool ONLY to watch their swimmer.
    • No concessions. Pack LOTS of concession type snacks because that's why your kids want to come to meets.
    • Spirit Event - After the meet on Thursday night, there will be a pool party. The party will not begin until the pool deck is put back together (which should be easy this year!). Please stay to help and let the kids swim.

While it will just be us Sharks at the pool, we plan to set the meets up this way so that it feels more like a normal Thursday night of SAIL competition.

    Volunteers

You want a front row seat for this summer’s swim meets...Volunteering gets you the best spot on the deck and right in the middle of all the action. Staying with SAIL’s recommendations we will have a VERY limited number of volunteer spots this season. Each lane will have only one timer and recorder. We will need clerk of course, tent parents, runners and a couple of floaters. This week volunteers (other than officials) will work half of the meet, as we normally do, in order for all parents to have an opportunity to relax and enjoy the meet.

If you are interested in volunteering, you need to get certified by taking the appropriate test on the Swimtopia website. THIS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO THE MEET DAY. This would include timers, recorders, and officials.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

    Thanks!
