Signup Instructions for Meets

Meet Participation Declaration

For each meet, you will need to declare whether or not your athlete will be swimming. Parents MUST declare "attending this meet" for each meet in order for their swimmer to be assigned to individual events or relays. Please declare "not attending this meet" rather than not responding so we are sure that a decision has been made.

To respond to a meet, click on the green Meet Entry button for the specified meet. Then click the Edit tab under your athletes' names and indicate decisions for each athlete. Click Save to confirm your preferences.

Availability for Relays

Please note that availability for relays does not guarantee selection for relays. Coaches will attempt to enter all swimmers into a relay at some point during the season.

  • Available for all relays This selection indicates a swimmer is available to swim the first event of the meet (medley relay) and the last event of the meet (free relay), if selected.
  • Arriving late, not available for early relays This selection indicates a swimmer is NOT available to swim the first event of the meet (medley relay) but WILL STAY through the last event of the meet (free relay), if selected.
  • Leaving early, not available for late relays This selection indicates a swimmer is available to swim the first event of the meet (medley relay) but DOES NOT want to be entered into the last event of the meet (free relay).
  • Not available for any relays This selection indicates a swimmer does not want to be considered for any relays for this meet.

Please note: Not showing up for a relay penalizes three other athletes who were excited about swimming. Often we are unable to fill that spot once the meet has started. For that reason, neglecting to show up for a relay could jeopardize future relay assignments, so please make sure your response reflects your plans.

Individual Events

Swimmers are entered into up to three individual events from the following: short freestyle, individual medley, breaststroke, long freestyle, backstroke, butterfly. Swimmers are encouraged to talk to their coaches on the Monday prior to the meet regarding what they would like to swim; however, the final decision will be made by the coaches. The coaches desire for all swimmers to enjoy their events, but they also hope to push our swimmers to be better and benefit the team as a whole.

If, for any reason, a swimmer cannot swim certain individual events, that information must be noted. For example, if a swimmer may be late due to another commitment or will not be staying after a certain time, that information must be indicated when asked for notes for the coaches. If nothing is noted, it is assumed a swimmer is available for the all individual events.

Adding and scratching events creates issues even when done before a meet begins. Please give all necessary information so that events can be assigned correctly.

Volunteering

Each family with swimmers participating in a meet must serve for at least half of the meet in a job specified by the swim team. Sign up for volunteer shifts by clicking on the green Job Signup button for the specified meet. Jobs are first come, first served; however, our volunteer coordinator does reserve the right to shift positions, if necessary. Families not signing up for a job will be assigned a position.
